Des Servitudes qui dérivent de la Situation des lieux

Property Law
Titre XIV: Des Servitudes ou Services fonciers (On Servitudes or Land Services)
Chapitre I: Des Servitudes qui dérivent de la Situation des lieux (On Servitudes Deriving from the Situation of Places)

Tout propriétaire a le droit d'entourer son héritage d'une clôture, sauf l'exception portée en l'article 127, du Titre VII de la Loi relative aux Hattes et Corail.

Life lesson: You may fence your land — but the Law on Hattes and Corrals carves an exception. The right to enclose yields to the pastoral needs of the nation.
Notes: Right to enclose (droit de se clore): universal, subject to exception in Art. 127 (Hattes & Corrals title — pastoral/open-range provisions). Cross-reference to agricultural law. Cf. Code Napoléon Art. 647.
