Encore qu'une chose soumise à l'usufruit serait vendue, cet acte n'apporterait aucun changement aux droits de l'usufruitier. Une renonciation formelle à ce droit, de sa part, peut seule interrompre sa jouissance.

Life lesson: Sell the property, and the usufruct survives — the new owner takes the thing burdened. Only the usufructuary's own formal renunciation can end it.
Notes: Sale does not extinguish usufruct: buyer takes subject to existing usufruct. Only formal renunciation by usufructuary terminates enjoyment. Droit de suite — usufruct follows the thing. Cf. Code Napoléon Art. 621.
