Des Meubles
Titre XI:
De la Distinction et de la Nature des Biens
(On the Distinction and Nature of Property)
Chapitre II:
Des Meubles
(On Movable Property)
Les matériaux d'une maison démolie, ceux accumulés pour en construire une autre, sont meubles jusqu'à ce qu'ils soient employés dans une construction.
Life lesson:
Demolish a house, and its stones become movable. Stack materials for a new building, and they remain movable — until the moment they are set into construction. The transition from rubble to edifice is also a transition in law.
Notes:
Materials from demolished buildings and stockpiled construction materials are movable until incorporated into a new structure. Legal status follows physical state: detached = movable, incorporated = immovable.
