Les héritiers de la caution sont tenus à toutes ses obligations, excepté à la contrainte par corps, quand même elle y aurait été obligée.

Life lesson: A surety's heirs inherit the financial obligations but not the imprisonment — that's personal and dies with the surety.
Notes: Transmissibility: suretyship obligations pass to heirs. Exception: contrainte par corps (personal, non-transmissible).
