Les engagemens ou obligations contractés par le mandataire, qui s'est conformé au pouvoir qu'il avait, seront exécutés par le mandant, qui ne peut être tenu de ce qui a été fait au-delà, que dans le cas de ratification expresse ou tacite.

The principal is bound by everything the agent did within their powers; and by anything beyond them that the principal ratifies.
