Chapitre II: Des Obligations du Mandataire (On the Obligations of the Mandatary)

Celui qui s'est chargé d'un mandat est obligé de l'accomplir jusqu'à ce qu'il y ait renoncé ; il est tenu des dommages-intérêts résultant de son inexécution. L'affaire commencée à la mort du mandant, doit être terminée par le mandataire, si par le retardement il occasionnait quelque perte aux héritiers du mandant.

Life lesson: Once you accept a mandate, see it through or properly resign — and if the principal dies mid-task, finish it to protect the heirs.
Notes: Mandatary's duty to perform: until renunciation. Liability for non-performance. Post-mortem completion duty if delay would harm heirs.
