Ce douaire ne peut être accordé qu'en usufruit, soit d'un immeuble, soit d'une somme déterminée, et ne peut être pris que sur les biens, tant meubles qu'immeubles du mari.

Life lesson: Dower is usufruct only — the wife uses it but doesn't own it — and it comes from the husband's property.
