Des Enfans naturels

Family Law
Titre VI: De la Paternité et de la Filiation (On Paternity and Filiation)
Chapitre III: Des Enfans naturels (On Natural Children)

Life lesson: A father's signature alone can claim a child — but without the mother's voice, the claim reaches only as far as the father's estate.
Notes: Separate recognition mechanism: authentic act by father supplements a silent birth record. Unilateral paternal recognition limits the child's rights to the father's property only — mother's acknowledgment required for full bilateral rights. Protects maternal lineage from unverified claims.
